SKATEISTAN : TO LIVE AND SKATE AFGHANISTAN
SKATEISTAN: TO LIVE AND SKATE KABUL from Diesel New Voices on Vimeo.
Skateistan: To Live And Skate Kabul is a beautifully shot film that
follows the lives of a group of young skateboarders in Afghanistan. Operating against the backdrop of war and bleak prospects, the Skateistan charity project is the world’s first co-educational skateboarding school, where a team of international volunteers work with girls and boys between the ages of 5 and 17, an age group largely untouched by other aid programmes.

TABIO “SLIDE SHOW”
Charming flash site for clothing label Tabio, where the models slide around polished floor board in socks
What caught my attention was the dragging sensation created when you try to move to the next item.. cleaver.
The site is not overly done as well.. short enough to be really enjoyable and it’s not trying to force feed you too much information.

DARK SIDE OF THE LENS
DARK SIDE OF THE LENS from Astray Films on Vimeo.
This gives me more shivers than most I would think as it closely resembles how I grew up.. Paddling out in swells in the depths of a southern New Zealand winter. The film is amazing. I miss home.

NEW TIRES
-
00
Just blew out my tires on my new/vintage bike and was searching for a new set.
Came across these.. still trying to decide if it’s cheesy or down right SWEEEETT… Tron comes to mind.
Here’s the doss:
A unique, patented invention designed to revolutionise cycling safety.
Using high powered LED lights embedded in the tread or wall of the tyres, Cyglo Tyre creates a ring of light that maximises visibility on today’s busy roads.
Switched using a motion sensor within the tyre, The LED bulbs can either flash or be permanently on, so when the wheel turns at any speed, a high visibility ring of light is formed whilst continually and perpetually creating it’s own power.
Patented in the UK and USA, Cyglo Tyre revolutionises cycling safety and offers commuter cyclists, Police Officers, Paramedics, Royal Mail workers and couriers on the road today a unique and unprecedented safety measure.
Manufacturing bicycle tyres with LED lights already built in has significant benefits, not least that pedal cycles become aligned with all road vehicles by having permanent running lights on day and night to maximise visibility regardless of lighting conditions.
Cyglo Tyre also offers exciting after market coloured and flashing light options for trend setting BMX riders and fashionable mountain bike enthusiasts.

COPY FOR RELEASES / BRANCHES IN VERSIONS APP
-
00
I’ve been using Versions App by Sofa as an SVN client for my coding source control for a couple of years now.. and I love it.
But its taken me all this time to find that I can create a copy for branching and release tags with-in the client. Previously I’ve had to fire up terminal and do in manually.
The trick is to click / drag and place the directory you wish to branch/tag while holding opt. That simple. I cant find this mentioned anywhere in the documentation or help dialogs.
Wonder what other cool tricks i’ve been missing.

I’ve been waiting for this one of a while. Released 3 weeks ago i can’t believe i missed it till now.
The object: To tilt your iphone/ipod/ipad until the disjointed pixels match up on an over-the-top complexity eboy graphic.
The game itself is fairly basic and skipping through all the levels doesn’t take too long. I’m just a fan of the graphics and had great fun trying to do this on the bus home.
